While the subject of social value is far from new, it is a term that is hugely important to so many of us – particularly Eat PR & Marketing. As an experienced PR agency within foodservice and hospitality, the team all share the same passion for hospitality and we love nothing more than to pledge our support and really get behind those who are making a positive difference within the industry.
Here at Eat PR & Marketing we are all about investing in the wider social community of the industry. This is who we are, this is what we do. It’s in our DNA. We believe in going way above and beyond for our clients, our people as well as the wider industry.
To give you a prime example, just last year our very own Andrew Taylor took part in the ‘Moving Mountains for Mental Health’ challenge with 24 other spirited individuals from the Unox team. The challenge was intense, but extremely rewarding. It consisted of hauling an oven weighing more than a whopping 140kg to the top of Ben Nevis. The group ascended a staggering 1,100 metres above sea level with the 10-grid ChefTop-X in tow, a point higher than any other in England or Wales.
An impressive £24,000 was raised on behalf of The Burnt Chef Project – a charity that champions mental health support within the industry, reducing the stigma around mental health in the hospitality industry on a global stage. The Eat PR & Marketing team were honoured to be a part of this achievement.
Last year we also partnered with The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) to assist and support the association in delivering effective campaigns that recognises its history and heritage, whilst also taking into consideration the future of RACA and the fantastic efforts they go to to deliver comprehensive training to young aspiring chefs. The work they do is truly admirable and we are delighted to play a very small part in helping them to achieve the best results for our future talent.
Most recently, this year we were thrilled to be appointed as Umbrella Training’s chosen PR, marketing and communications partner. Umbrella Training is a fantastic leading nationwide training and apprenticeship provider to the hospitality sector, with the highest quality training and development services for those looking to begin, or further develop their career in hospitality. As an agency, we have been working alongside the Umbrella Training Academy to help it diversify further and really focus on developing its culinary apprenticeships across the industry. It has been truly wonderful to be a part of, as it is to be supporting some of the other fantastic work and charities out there in the industry – such as Hospitality Action, Springboard and Only A Pavement Away. There’s some brilliant work going on at the moment which must all be commended.
Our social values:
Social value, as a business, is also incredibly important to us in terms of how we operate. We are an agency that thrives on positivity. We strive to improve our health and wellbeing, employability and support local communities where we can. As a leading PR and marketing agency within foodservice and hospitality, we are fully committed to working in a way that has a positive impact on our people as well as the environment and we choose to partner with clients, industry contacts and associations who share this same commitment.
Our ‘people first’ approach has encouraged a great deal of diversity within the team and has opened up new opportunities of bringing fresh talent into our business. Our extraordinary team is absolutely testament to this. Over the space of just 12 months, we have grown from a team of four to seven – a strong, dedicated and committed team who, given our reputation, our contacts and connections between us all, we are now considered as a trusted and respected PR and marketing agency within the industry.
At Eat PR & Marketing we care passionately about our team, our clients, the work we do as well as how our actions impact others as well as the environment. We employ great people who we really care about to make us a great bunch of PR professionals.
Promoting employee wellbeing has always been a key focus area at Eat PR & Marketing. Our decision to move to Glove Factory Studios is a prime example of this. Surrounded by acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside, the studio includes access to stunning parkland, lakes, courtyards, meeting rooms that are available for hire, along with informal breakout areas. The workspace is bright and spacious and offers many areas for the team to kick back and relax in. This not only promotes employee wellbeing, but also boosts morale and productivity.
The space also acts as a place to collaborate. Whether it be a group brainstorming day, or a day of one on one meetings with clients, having that space to come together to share ideas is as important as ever. Our office provides our team and visitors with the opportunity to inspire, innovate and connect with people – all under the one roof.
When it comes to our client base, we listen to them and understand their needs – however big or small. We always make sure they feel valued through regular check ins, sharing of knowledge, proactive ideas and socials. Our clients really do remain one of the priority focuses for us and we believe in going way above and beyond when supporting them on their journey.
Unox, The Burnt Chef Project, Umbrella Training and RACA are just a few of a long list of other clients Eat PR & Marketing is happy to serve – not just when it comes to comms support, but also in terms of helping to make a difference to people’s lives, as well as the wider community. As an experienced PR agency within foodservice and hospitality, we have what it takes to build positive and enduring partnerships with people and communities in order to improve services and get voices heard within the foodservice industry.
