Reflecting on the year to date…

Team photo

It’s hard to believe we’re almost halfway through the year, but taking a rare opportunity to reflect on what’s been achieved in the first half of 2024, fills me with immense pride. Whether it’s supporting clients on a national and international stage – including our first trip to Sigep in Rimini – working with some truly inspirational, world-renowned chefs, partnering with several exciting new clients, or just simply doing what we do best as a team (and having a great time in the process), this year has got every chance of being our finest yet.

What we have achieved

We’ve managed case studies in Michelin-starred restaurants, supported the next generation by joining student chefs on international tours, been invited to events that celebrate our wonderful sector, spoken on stage in front of hundreds of industry professionals, worked with high-profile influencers and visited exhibitions and events across the country. This isn’t even mentioning the day-to-day press office services we deliver as a matter of course from our base in Wiltshire.

Our new home

Talking of our home, we were handed the keys to our new office in May and after many months of waiting for the opportunity, it was an exciting day for the Eat PR & Marketing team. Proud to call the idyllic Glove Factory Studios home, we were moving from our first studio to a larger, dedicated space that will enable us to grow further and allow us the space to collaborate as a team. With views stretching out over the lakes and fields beyond, our new office is the perfect place for the team to generate ideas, activate campaigns and even host our wonderful clients and partners. Looking back now, moving to the Glove Factory was one of our best decisions, but it might never have happened. Launching the business in the middle of the pandemic, a business mentor once told me, via a Zoom call, that we would never need a physical office… the world of work had changed, and people would expect to work from home! Thankfully, this view has subsequently changed and whilst flexibility and hybrid working are something Eat PR is fully committed to, our best days are often those when we’re together, sharing ideas or catching up over lunch from the Wild Herb, our wonderful on-site café. Split between Wiltshire and London, it can be rare that we’re all together, but the days we are, are without a doubt, the days we value the most.

A growing team

Whilst on growth, I’m delighted to welcome Lauren Mayle, our new Account Director to our team. Lauren joins us having spent more than a decade working at some of London’s most prominent and highly respected food and drink agencies. During her career, Lauren has worked with brands including Callebaut, Kerrymaid, MONIN, Hoshizaki and Danone to name just a few. This experience and knowledge of the sector complements our small, but mighty team, allowing us to support our fantastic clients, as well as some of the exciting opportunities we have in the pipeline. Like JP, Lauren is based in London, giving us greater flexibility for events, exhibitions, media catch-up, client meetings and alike. I’m confident that Lauren’s experience and industry contacts will be of real value to our business, our team and our clients – welcome Lauren!

On reflection

While the first half of the year has gone by in a flash, there really have been so many great things to reflect on. Looking ahead with anticipation, I firmly believe that the next six months will bring even more standout moments, incredible work and great opportunities. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the journey to where we are today!
