Jonathan Patterson, or shall we say JP, has recently joined the Eat PR & Marketing team, bringing with him more than two decades of dedicated industry experience. Three months on from his appointment, we find out how he is enjoying his new role as PR director and what he plans to bring to the business.
Having worked previously as a PR Director at Mercieca and as Client Services Director at The Hub, JP has first-hand experience managing high profile accounts, delivering successful integrated PR campaigns and leading on PR and social media strategies for a number of key clients – all skills and experience we were looking for in our new PR director’s role.
Given JP’s years of invaluable experience and love for the food industry, he is undoubtedly the man for the job and we are proud to have him join our team. As the new PR director, he is responsible for supporting and overseeing our client strategies, further enhancing media relations within Foodservice and bringing a greater focus on the Retail food sector to Eat PR & Marketing – an area of the business we are keen to develop and grow.
JP’s appointment comes following a period of consistent growth for Eat PR & Marketing. Having consistently secured many fantastic clients over the past 18 months, we have very quickly grown to become one of the most prominent and well-respected specialist foodservice and hospitality agencies within the industry – something we are immensely proud of.
On joining the team, JP says: “I’m delighted to have joined Eat PR & Marketing at such an exciting time in the company’s short history. Having recently secured several significant client wins and with further exciting opportunities in the pipeline, the company has cemented its position as a respected and admired agency.”
“Working alongside Andrew, Susannah and the team, I am enjoying being hands-on with day-to-day content creation and using my experience in developing comprehensive marketing strategies for all our clients.”
“It’s been great fun so far”, he adds. “We have a variety of projects on the go and we have a fascinating mix of brands and clients. I’m delighted with how it’s going and I’m really enjoying what I’m doing.”
No one day is the same for JP and just like the rest of the team, he loves nothing more than being out and about. If he’s not attending an exhibition, a conference event, visiting one of our fabulous clients or heading to an awards ceremony, he is spending the day brainstorming with the rest of the team at our swanky new offices in Wiltshire. JP is all about immersing himself in trade shows, press visits, supporting clients, case studies and networking – all of the things he is hugely passionate about.
Although Eat PR & Marketing is a young business, as a team we share over 40 years’ experience between us – a staggering number and one to be proud of. JP believes experience and teamwork are the key to a successful PR business. “I have previously worked with agencies who have handled the PR for big brands so I am familiar with what they need to succeed and I believe that my experience will make a real difference at Eat PR & Marketing.”
The beauty of our agency is that everyone has something different to bring to the table, as JP explains: “It’s less about the impact of the individual, but more about the collective. We can do more together than we can as one individual. All I am doing is adding to the collective wisdom of the business.”
In terms of client base, JP is working across the board, but with a particular focus on Signature FSE and Panasonic – the agency’s latest client wins. JP says he gets great satisfaction out of getting only the best results for each and every one of his clients.
“It’s all about the power of editorial,” he says. There’s nothing more satisfying than to see the work we do have a tangible impact on our client’s business. This has been fantastic and is one of the reasons why I love working in PR.”
Going forward, JP says the focus for him and the team is getting ahead of the curve and prepping for next year, with lots in the pipeline to look forward to. So, if you happen to see JP or one of the Eat PR & Marketing team out and about, come and say hi. We are a friendly bunch and would love to catch up and do business with you.
